Hi izmocars, Not far from the El San Juan is Cafe Playita, which has good food and is very cool and laid back. The bar at Brother Jimmy's on the roof of the El San Juan is also laid back. On the beach in front of the Intercontinental is another bar restaurant, For great local cuisine try Plato's just up the block. The local brew is Medallia.

I think the beer from the Old Harbor Brewery & Restaurant in OSJ is very good! I know it is served in some other places around the city.

Cheers,

luu - Mofongo is mashed green plantains with garlic. Usually stuffed with meat or seafood (think mashed potato substitute.)
