Old San Juan - Are you still the same ?

I was in San Juan in 1967 and soooooo enjoyed walking the little cobblestone alleys filled with hanging plants and wonderful little shops. It was wonderful and so beautiful. When I was there again a few years ago we just walked from the ship around the area but I didn't find the same "atmosphere" and was disappointed. We are going again in October on a cruise. Would someone be so kind as to give me directions from the pier to this area ? Thanks so much in advance :-)

Well I can tell you to bear to the left and then head straight in.

But its not the same place it was in 1967.

All places change over time, no always in the way we would like. I can't begin to tell you how many restaurants I used to go to in Puerto Rico that simply no longer exist.

Do you remember the name of the street we "head straight in" on ? :-)

If you are arriving on pier 3 (carnival), you are already in OSJ. Any street you take will take you to the points of interest.

If you dock at the panamerican pier (rc), then you need to take a cab. You can tell them to drop you off by El Morro, which is the highest point on the hill.

Calle San Justo,

Calle del Cristo is also good.

Go here:

Go to the lower map and zoom in.

Each push pin will show a different short video.
