Trip after Hurricane Sandy

We are heading to Isla Verde on 10/31 through 11/5. I am wondering how the beach has been or will be affected by Hurricane Sandy and, perhaps more importantly, what recommendations do folks have for fun things to do in the rain (or to get out of it)... Looking forward to your helpful info and advice!!

Hurricane Sandy, nothing. It is too far away and getting farther.

There could be another one coming soon, we are in hurricane season. There is no way to know that. Just plan your trip as usual.

It rained heavily last night, but we were not directly affected by the hurricane. So no problems at the beach next week. Just expect the usual unexpected short spells of rain that we usually get.

When it rains, you can go to a museum....or just hole up in a casino until it goes away.

We received over 6" of rain on our property at the edge of El Yunque in the past 12 hours.

Now, it looks like the worst is over. The outer band of SANDY that swept across the island from south-west to north-east is now off the NE corner of the island.

As I write this it's 10/29 and Weather.com shows 20 to 30% chance of rain during your stay. This looks to be accurate since it hasn't been raining much here in San Juan so I wouldn't worry about the rain while your here. Sandy really dumped more rain in the interior and west side of Puerto Rico. Most locals don't let the rain affect their outings... except the beach which are pretty much deserted during rain. If your staying at Isla Verde you will be in the middle of the tourist area with many restaurants (mostly good ones) in the area.
