4-days -- FUN Outdoor Activities

Hi....we are travelling this Saturday to Wednesday to San Juan. I am looking for really fun activities (not zip lining - done it many times). I was thinking Bio Bay Kayaking would be fun, but it is a full moon period so that is a no go.

Any suggestions? We could rent a car for a day, if needed.

We are up for anything fun and different! Has anyone tried repelling the waterfalls?

Thank you.

There are manu outdoor activities in Puerto Rico.

But, before you nock out Ziplining, look into the Toro Verde web site. They have one of the longest ziplines in the world, plus offer tour combinations with rapelling, hanging bridges, and ziplines.

If your budget allows it, try a catamaran tour that visits eiter Culebra or Vieques Islands. Culebra has one to the top 10 beaches in the world (Flamenco beach). This will take a whole day.

For rapelling on the caves try "Aventuras Tierra Adentro". They have many options to fit budget and time. Visit seepuertorico.com for additional providers

Visit El Yunque rainforest, with many hiking trails that include waterfalls that you can swim in. This is free of charge, and you will need transportations since it is a 30-40 min ride from San Juan. Near the El Yunque there are 4x4 tours, and horseback rides. Check out Hacienda Carabali.

There is paddleboarding rental in El Condado area (Vela Uno is a trusted provider). Vela Uno even provides lessons if needed.

At the Isla Verde area you can do Parasailing, bannana boat rides, jet ski rental, and even take surfing lessons.

Take one day to walk in Old San Juan. Walk from the Port area all the way up to The El Morro Fort. On the way sip a "Piragua" (local snow cone) or "helado" (local ice cream). Bring your camera, because in every corner you will find a jewel.

Last but not least, there is the opportunity to visit the Bacardi rum factory. They have free tours that last 1.5 hr. This is an opportunity to see how rum is manufactured. It is a 10 min drive from el Condador area. check out their web site for tour hours.

Hope it helps

We rode ATVs with Hacienda Carabali near El Yunque and had a lot of fun - they also have horse back riding and go-carts there.

Rocaliza is sponsored by the Puerto Rico Tourism Company and does rappelling down a waterfall. Check their website:

Also consider taking a snorkeling tour from Fajardo's Marina del Rey marina to some of the beautiful offshore cays in a catamaran for the day. I recommend East Island Excursions.

Try Kalichi Adventures or Montana Explora for S191 waterfall excursions/canyoning or even San Cristobal Canyon with a guide.
