Rainy day museums

We are staying in Luquillo. Should we go to San Juan or Old San Juan? Which one is easier to get to?

For museums in the metro area, check out Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico in Santurce (just off of Route 26), the National Gallery in Old San Juan, or (our favorite) Museum of the Americas in OSJ. Info in our blog ... puertoricodaytrips.com/san-juan-art-museums/ and puertoricodaytrips.com/old-san-juan-museums/

Old San Juan has the best variety of things to do or see on a rainy day. In addition to museums, shops, parks (between raindrops), cathedrals, architecture and really good restaurants.

You can do both. The Museum of Art and Museum of Contemporary Art are in Santurce, 10min from OSJ. Then you can go to OSJ for the National Gallery and Museum of San Juan.

A nice day trip would be a ride to Ponce on the south coast to the Museum of Art in Ponce. It has a world class collection of European works of art as well as centuries old Puerto Rican art work.
