We will have 1 day in port in San Juan Puerto Rico in mid November. Do you have any suggestions aside from visiting the old town?

thanks for your ideas

With only one day in SJ there is not much more you can do. OSJ will take care of that entire afternoon. There are 2 forts, museums, stores and plenty of other things to do.

I agree with the post above. Old San Juan has plenty to do and see.

How long will you be in port?

8 hours is not much time to explore outside the San Juan area, specially if there's traffic, which is normal is PR. I would just stay in Old San Juan. You can visit the forts, do some shopping, and try the local food (Cafe Manolin is great). 8 hours is perfect to explore at your leisure.

If you want to go to a beach, Isla Verde is only 15 minutes away (by car).
