Day before cruise

We are coming in early afternoon the day before our (Royal Carb) cruise, arriving at 1:45 pm. No one in my family has ever been to San Juan, so we would appreciate suggestions. We are staying at Raddison Ambassador. Do we have enough time to check in and still some sights? I am considering Punta de Vista and Pinky's for dinner/breakfast. Are either of these places close to our hotel or would we need a taxi. Same request for day we get off of the ship, our flight leaves at 5:10pm. Any suggestions for what we have time to see/do/eat?

On your pre cruise day you have time to visit OSJ. You will only be able to see one of the forts, as they close at 5pm. Buy you will still be able to enjoy the area after that. Punto de Vista is not a great place to have dinner. Better options are Cafe Puerto Rico, La Cueva del Mar, Cinema bar and Anamu. To go to OSJ from the Radisson you need to take a cab.

Pinky's is a good option for breakfast. It is rather small, so arrive early or be prepared to wait. It is one and a half blocks from the Radisson. Another good option for breakfast in the area is Blonda.

On your post-cruise day, you will have only a few hours free (10-3pm ish). And you will have your bags to worry about. Either take a taxi to tour you around the SJ area, leave your bags at Aloha restaurant and walk a bit more in OSJ, or go to the beach in Isla Verde.

We are coming in the day before our cruise as well. We fly in around 2 pm and will check in to our hotel (not sure where yet) and head to Luquillo Beach. Then on cruise day we will get up early and hike In the El Yunque rainforest. Our cruise departs late so we have plenty of time.

The other thing we considered was heading west to Arecibo and tour the caves. Next time! Enjoy your trip!

Be aware that you have to check in at cruise well before departure time.
