4 nights in San Juan - would love recommendations

Leaving next week with hubby, staying without kids (woo hoo!) for 4 nights at marriott stellaris. Would love some restaurant options that anyone feels are a must. We love ocean dining, love being outside so Oceano looks great. Any must sees? We are happy sitting at the swim up bar and relaxing a day 😊 not interested in many tours unless it's a sunset cruise etc. thx so much in advance. We are in our late 30s

I stayed this past summer at the Marriott Stellaris with wife and kids. I can suggest the same restaurants that we tried during our stay in San Juan, we enjoy them very much. (1) Oceano ($$$)- just a block or 2 away from the Marriott. They have a deck with tables and bar overlooking the beach. (2) Latin Star ($$)- in the Ashford Ave. not far from the Marriott. Try the mofongo with shrimp and/or seafood and a local brew Medalla Light. We tried the mofongo with veggies since we don't eat meat and it was really good. (3) Marmalade ($$$$)- this one is in Old San Juan, just a 10-15 minute cab ride from the Marriott. Be prepare to drop $150+ including drinks. One of the best restaurants in Puerto Rico. (4) Verde Mesa ($$$) - this restaurant caters to vegetarians, but they do have fish in their menu. This is a small cutesy restaurant with an eclectic decoration, every table is different, great service. I am sure you'll have a unique experience as we did. Try their herbal teas that can be loaded with your preferred distilled spirit. Other good restaurants that we have tried without any regrets: St. Germain (at Old San Juan), Dragon Fly (at Old San Juan), Agua Viva (at Old San Juan).

By the way, if you are not renting a car then take a cab and go to old San Juan during the day and take a romantic sunset walk on the Paseo La Princesa during the evening and keep walking along the big fortified walls. Try to get to El Convento Hotel (lots of history in this hotel) and take a look inside. Maybe stay at the bar for a drink or eat at their restaurant. Also try to go to El Morro and San Cristobal Fortresses during the day, you will not regret it.

Oceano's view is great but the food is just ok.

For great food try Casa Lola, 1919, Marmalade, La Cueva del Mar, Cafe Puerto Rico, Olive, Perurrican, La Madre, St Germain Cafe.
