Vieques beer and wine tip

Morales has a decent selection of inexpensive wines, and the standard fare domestic beers (as well as a few varieties of Sam Adams).

If you are looking for higher end bottles of wine, liquor or more varieties of Sam Adams (IPA for instance) there's an amazing - albeit smelly - dive bar on the street that runs parallel to the main drag in Isabel (Calle Regimiento 65 de Infanteria) called El Sombrero Viejo (or Kuhn's) that has a sizable stock of alcohol that they sell to go. Be aware that the prices can be quite high, but the selection is, as far as I know, unparalleled on the island.

Also try Cash and Carry...he carried several wines (if that section is still open). Perhaps someone else can give us the current skinny?

El Sombrero Viejo is a bit of an ex-pat institution!

A newish and rather curious place that has a higher end selection of wines (=$$) is the cava at the cash & carry at the junction of rutas 200 & 201. (Edit: just saw Rosy88's post. We can't confirm if the place is still open or not)

And if you're fans like us, La Tienda Verde (aka The Green Store) has a better selection of wines from Argentina than Morales.
