Any suggestions for 2 days in St. Martin before St. Barts?

We have rented a villa in St. Barts for a week but have 2 other days to spend. I was thinking of spending 2 days in St. Martin since we are flying into there and have not been there either. Any suggestions on where to stay for that short of time would be appreciated.

Grand Case on the French side of SXM has great restaurants and some nice hotels. The beach is OK but you are close to Orient Beach as well as some others. There are several nice places to stay, Petit Hotel or Grand Case Beach Club.

You can also save some money by flying out of the airport at Grand Case rather than Phillipsburg.

Thanks. I was actually considering LaPetit in Grand Case but was not sure about the beach and how hard it is to get to the airport for our flight to St. Barts. The Grand Case airport is a good idea but is it the same company that flies out of that airport to St. Barts? Do you have a name of the company or airline that you recommend trying to book the flight from Grand Case to St. Barts?

Try St. Barths Commuter Airlines, they are less expensive than Winair and fly out of both SXM airports.

St Barth Commuter flies out of both airports. Also note that all flights to SBH are one way, meaning there is no cost penalty for flying from Grand Case to SBH on the way out and SBH to PJIA on the return, if that is more convenient. You can also used different airlines as all charge per leg. That allows you to pick the flights that are most convenient for your connections.

Other options with more flight times but greater cost include Winair and Air Caribes. However, they only fly out of PJIA.

All the advice, which has been given, is good. However, do remember that St. Barths Commuter gets booked up very early. If you choose this option, book now!

If you are that close, and love wonderful food, a trip to the restaurant on Scilly Cay off of Anguilla can't be missed. You take a five minute little ferry ride to the island, sunbathe while they catch and cook your lunch. Absolutely the best food I've had in the Caribbean. Rum punch is internationally famous.Eat in your bathing suit on a sand-covered floor while listening to some great live tunes. Price wise...very high, but well worth every penny.

Coincidently, we are planning a trip to St. Barts this spring.....we WILL go back to Scilly Cay.
