St. Barts - Food Recommendations?

We're on St. Barts for a week (8 July through 15 July). Does anyone have food recommendations?

Obviously, the food here is expensive (particularly for Americans, thanks to Ben Bernanke, QE2, weak dollar, beggar-thy-neighbor monetary policy, etc., etc.).

So we're looking for great food at the more expensive restaurants, or surprisingly good food at less expensive restaurants, bakeries, sandwiches places, etc.

Many thanks for any recommendations!

Great food is to be found all over the island. Highly recommended expensive places include Maya's, Bonito, and the hotel restaurants of On the Rocks at Eden Rock, Le Gaiac at Toiny and Victoria at Carl Gustaf. The hotel restaurants are more reliably open during low season.

Of mid-range places that are open in July try the Wall House (an excellent value for lunch too), Eddy's, Le Repaire, Santa Fe and the Harbour's St Barth.

For less expensive (note they are not "cheap") are Andy's Hideaway, Le Creperie, Bananiers and Le Bouchon (good for take-away.)

Petit Colombe is a bakery with several outlets around the island. In Gustavia there are a few others. All have great pasteries, sandwiches, salads and even hot food. Perfect for breakfasts and picnic lunches on the beach.

I second Andy's, Eddy's, and Wall House for best bang for the buck places!

L'entracte is also a good choice in the mid-price range. Not sure if they are open in July.
