Good area to stay

Can anyone tell me what area is good to stay? We are thinking about Marigot Bay but not sure if there is enough to do. There is going to be 2 couples and wanted to be able to walk to bars and restaurants.

We stayed in Castries, so don't know first hand, but think the Rodney Bay area might be more of what you are looking for. They have much more in the way of restaurants and bars. You can still easily day trip to Soufriere or Marigot Bay.

I agree with the above post. The Rodney Bay/Reduit Beach area definately has the largest concentration of accommodations on the island, as well as several restaurants that you can walk too. Hotels range from all-inclusives to small inns so depending on your budget, you should be able to find someting suitable. Just make sure you take at least a day or two to explore the other parts of the island.

Really depends on what "enough to do" means to you. In Marigot you can walk to five restaurants/bars. You can swim, snorkel, take a dive boat out, rent watersports equipment, take a water taxi to another beach, sail on a sunfish, kayak, take a sailing trip down the coast, or sit and read a book. If you want a lot of night life, you want Rodney Bay. Depending on the time of year you plan to go, there might be entertainment in one of the Marigot restaurants two or three nights a week.
