Island Hopping

Will be in ST. LUCIA for 8 days around Christmas. Are any of the other islands (Martinique, Grenadines) worth day trips? How Pricey would it be?

Go to the Grenadines. It isn't cheap (about $395 each) but would be very worth it.

I don't think they offer day trips to Martinique anymore unless you fly there.

There used to be a day trip to Martinique using the Wave Riders high speed catamaran, but recently there have been postings saying that it has ceased as the company has gone out of business.

The only other day trip possibilty is the Grenadines. It is expensive - about 350 US $ each. Is it worth it? Yes, if you can afford it. It starts with a flight down to Union Island, and then a day cruising between small palm fringed islands with white sand beaches and turquoise seas, with time ashore on several of the little islands. I did it several years ago, but the experience was so good that the memory is still there.

There are several other islands that are worth exploring, but because of flight or ferry schedules, it requires an overnight stop in the islands.
