Two bedroom condo/villa beachfront February 2012

I am searching for a two bedroom beachfront villa/condo for February 2012 for a week. I travel with my wife and my sister and we like to do our own cooking for breakfast and snacks for lunch and the go our to eat at night. We are all in our early 50's and not big party people but love to come back after dinner and have a cocktail or two and play a mean game of cards. Love to go right out the door and go for a swim on a nice sandy beach.

We are first timers to the island and we are in need of a point in the right direction. I would say five thousand bucks for the week for the 4 of us would be a good starting budget.

Can I get this done and were do you suggest?

Have a look at Villa Beach Cottages, Windjammer Landing (which is on a hillside so may not meet your needs) or Cotton Bay Village. If you are looking for a standalone unit then you can have a peek at www.vrbo.com Here's a private rental for Cotton Bay versus needing to book through the resort itself http://www.vrbo.com/352397

Thanks for the tips. I actually did read some reviews on Villa Beach Cottages..I read they can be on the noisy side as they are very close to a couple of main roads. Then again plenty of good reviews as well.

I will take a look at Cotton Bay Village..

Thanks keep them coming.

Too much of a mixed bag of reviews for Cotton Bay Village...Numerous less then thrilled vacationers at that property..

Thanks for the suggest, I am still searching.

Have a look at The Landings (I forgot about that one) as it is on the beach and close to restaurants, too. There are very few private rentals directly on a beach. Most require a short walk or a drive to the beach. If you seek lots of quiet then look for rentals in the South of the island.

The Landings is a great option. Beautiful condos, beaachfront location, several restaurants on site and a short drive from Rodney Bay with all it's bars and options, but still a quieter property to relax at. It is a bit pricey, but the condos are great and fully, completely stocked down to laundry in each unit, etc.

Windjammer is also a great option - condo villas all up the hillside on a cove-like beach. Several restaurant options and bars on property and again, pretty close to Rodney Bay. It is more of a family resort but still luxurious and a full service property.

Villa Beach - again a good choice. A little further out from RB and dining options and the restaurant on-site you need to let them know ahead of time for dinners, etc. but the beach is great and, while you are right off the highway, you are set back a ways and the sound of the ocean should cover the cars! It is walking distance to the movie theater!

Those would be my top 3 recommendations.

If you are looking to the south, there are some good options, let us know if you are thinking in that direction and we'll send those recommendations your way!

I think Bay Gardens Beach resort might suit your requirements well. When you book a 2 bedroom what you get is a one bed room apartment complete with kitchen and sitting room and the adjoining studio room which has 2 queen beds and a small kitchenette and a great shower room. Both will have balconies. It's at the quiet end of Reduit Beach in Rodney Bay and you can walk out at night to the many restaurants and bars there.

Hi,

I was reading through this thread thinking Bay Gardens Beach Resort and then saw that mw104 had beaten me to it and for all the same reasons. Even the garden view rooms are within 50 yards max of the beach. And all the restaurants are a pleasant 5/10 mins stroll.

And it is well within your budget

Mirage might work for you. On the beach with a large patio / gazebo great for playing cards. Close to 3 local restaurants and mini marts within walking distance, and a simple beach bar (beer's, shandy, rum) a few paces away.

A short taxi or drive to Debbie's Restaurant, Vieux Fort Supermarkets, and the International Airport.

my brother just stayed at Mirage for a few nights last week (had his girlfriend visiting, somehow not so romatic at his sister's house!) They loved it! they only rented the master bedroom portion, but thought it was great! It is very well set-up with everything you need in a kitchen and directly, smack dab on the beach.

It is in the southern part of the island in Laborie, so not as much nightlife as up north, however you would be experiencing the true St. lucia in one of the most beautiful villages on the island. Lots of local eats within walking distance, local rum bars, etc. Worth taking a look at. If you are looking for something closer to more amenities - shopping, casino, upscale restaurants - not the place for you.

Here is the direct website with rates, etc.
