The Pitons

Can you see The Pitons when you sail into Castries or do you need to take an excursion to see them?

Depends on which direction the ship is sailing from. If it is coming from the southern islands, you will sail by the Pitons early morning on the way to Castries harbour - a ways off coast, but still some great views. If sailing from northern islands, the sail by for the Pitons may or may not be in the afternoon, depending on your itinerary. If coming from Barbados to St. Lucia, the sail by is early morning.

Either way - you cannot see them from Castries. They are an hour to the southwest of the island. An excursion - either land/sea or land or sea tour - is the best way to see them and experience the island. Many other threads about one day cruise stops with recommendations of tours and excursions - a quick search of these boards will bring them up.

Enjoy your cruise!
