Babymoon Destination Advice?

My husband and I are looking to visit St. Lucia for about 7 days in mid-late February for a babymoon. We're looking for a luxury property with a spa, that offers 5-star service and delicious food. My main concerns since I'm pregnant are: drinking water safety, food options (including some vegetarian options), easily accessible (e.g., no climbing up a steep hill for me to get to the room), ease of transportation to/from airport. We're looking for a relaxing/romantic atmosphere, so that probably rules out all-inclusives with a bunch of drunks. ;) Pristine beach and pool access are a must.

It seems like Sugar Beach and Ti Kaye are 2 good options that I see online.... any thoughts on those 2 or other properties? Thanks!

Given your requirements, your choices may not be as well-suited to you as you would like. I suggest looking at East Winds Inn - http://www.eastwinds.com/home.php and Rendezvous as well - http://www.theromanticholiday.com/

Transportation to and from the airport to the north of the island is probably easiest via helicopter shuttle from Hewannora airport (UVF) to George F Charles airport (SLU) - http://www.stluciahelicopters.com otherwise you're looking at a long ride on winding roads that traverse the mountainous middle of the island - some people get motion sick from the ride.

Bon jou jgirl1313,

Ti Kaye has romantic cottages, an excellent spa, delicious food & drink AND... a long flight of stairs to/from the beach at beautiful Anse Cochon.

Viceroy Sugar Beach's Sugar Mill Rooms or Beachfront Bungalows may be your best choice.

And only a 45 min drive from UVF to Soufriere on a mostly flat & straight road, the last 15 min of which starts winding up to The Pitons...

Bless up! Paul

One thing to keep in mind about Ti Kaye is that getting to the beach involves climbing down a lot of steps and while climbing back up it seems that even more steps have been added :) Also, coming from New York, you might be a little disappointed with the food there.

Sugar Beach is nice and has easier access to the beach.

Two other properties that you might want to look at in the Soufriere area (which don't completely meet all of your requirements but are nonetheless worth exploring) include:

Anse Chastanet - Has a spa, but no pool (who needs a toxic chlorinated pool when you have the ocean right there to dip in)

Ladera - Not right on the beach but easy access to the beach via shuttle. Has spa and pool, and lots of luxury.
