day trip advice

Hi all, my husband and I go to St Lucia on 26th Jan for 2 weeks, we would like to do a day tour land and sea if possible, the ones I looked at started in Castries and as we are staying at Coconut Bay was not suitable. Also to do the aerial tram and a visit to the Rabot cocoa plantation on another day, would we be better hiring a private driver, any recommendations welcome.

many thanks

Linda

If, like me, you're fond of driving, then by all means you should rent a vehicle and drive yourselves. Logistically a land & sea tour from CB is not viable. If you're interested in sailing up the west coast from Soufriere to Castries and back, I suggest you contact Mystic Man tours in Soufriere, they might even offer to pick you up in Vieux Fort. The aerial tram is easily 90 minutes from CB possibly up to 2 hours each way. I've been on it - great views but there wasn't a lot to see in the canopy of the rainforest which was rather disappointing

Many thanks, we do not want to drive and are hoping to find suitable trips, may not bother with the aerial tram now, though,

Bon jou Linda-Jayne,

Hire a friendly land taxi owner-operator for a day-trip to Soufriere... we recommend Soufriere born & bred Fimba land taxi 758 719 1209... friendly, relaxed vibe, comfortable ride, island-insider, available day & night.

On your way North stop at Tet Paul Trail for an easy walk along the ridge behind The Pitons (+/- 1 hr), next door is Fond Doux Holiday Plantation (traditional cocoa-making & cocoa-dance tour), or further north at Hotel Chocolat Rabot Estate for their Cocoa Plantation Tour with lunch from the cocoa-infused menu at Boucan Restaurant, or across the road at Ladera Resort's Dasheene Restaurant... or stop in on the return for the sunset...

Next stop at the Drive-In Volcano & Sulpher Springs (Black Mud), then Morne Coubaril for the zipline and Superman (Tanzanite) Falls.

Next snorkeling at Malgretoute Beach at the foot of the Petit Piton and the warm Piton Falls... lunch available at Benny's Harmony Bar & Restaurant (reservations) or Martha's Table or further down between The Pitons at Viceroy Sugar Beach.

Then into Soufriere-town for Diamond Botanical Gardens and more warm/hot mineral springs & waterfalls... New Jerusalem & a relaxing water massage with Pascalina or Toraille Falls (renovations mostly completed) and more local meals or hotel/resort choices for lunch... including The Beacon outside of Soufriere and up the hill for the good food, spectacular views and the many parrots that have recently taken up residence...

Bless up! Paul

Thanks Paul, that's really helpful, there are some great things to do, will make a note of the taxi, it's good to have a recommendation, it's Richards birthday while we are away so somewhere for lunch with good views would be ideal, thanks again,

Bless you

Linda
