Taxi from UVF to Ti Kaye

Hi,

Does anyone know the cost for two people for a taxi from UVF Hewanorra to the Ti Kaye resort? Should we make a reservation with one of the cab companies before we travel or should we catch a cab at the airport? Also, I'm trying to decide how much US dollars to convert to XEC and wether to pay for the taxi transfers in USD or XEC. Thank you for the advice.

The cost would probably be about $80+ one way for 1-3 passengers. You could just catch a taxi at the airport (the taxis are not metered on the island), but perhaps better yet is you could use one of the transfer/tour companies and arrange your ride in advance. That way you'd also get a nice ride and kind of a tour on your way to the resort. Here's one example: www.spencerambrose.com

This way you'd have a good contact if you want to take other trips and you could work out a rate for multiple trips. If you use a transfer/tour company, you could pay in USD or by credit card in most cases.

On the island you can easily use USD and EC. It's nice to have some EC for local purchases when you are out and about. How much you need is a big variable but one good way is to not so much transfer US $ to EC but use an ATM at the airport and withdraw some cash that you'll then get in EC. Then you'll have some US $ that you bring with you and EC that you pick up locally.

Bon jou klzomar,

You will find plenty independent land taxi owner-operators (doubling as your private tour guide & island-insider) on rotation just outside the Arrival Hall exit at Hewanorra (UVF) in Vieux Fort.

Taxi fares for the most-frequented routes are regulated by the government of St. Lucia (GOSL) and Land Taxi Association members.

Ti Kaye is located on the Caribbean west coast, well off the main West Coast Road and the transport will cost +/- USD 80 one-way for up to 3 passengers.

Grocery & photo op stops, included.

The driver will tell you the fare in both USD or XCD, choose the currency you prefer...

Bless up! Paul

We have done both -- had a cab waiting for us and just getting one upon arrival. We prefer having someone there to pick us up. Our driver that we utilize is Kimbert and his website is www.phvtours.com He is an awesome young man, safe driver and very accommodating to your needs and wants. If you check the forum you will find several mentions of his services.
