Lil Help please

Hi, my wife and I are planning to use our TimeShare to book our 20th anniversary at St. Lucia. Problem is, there are three resorts available and all of them have a 41/2 star rating on tripadvisor. The are Windjammer, Cap Maison, and Bay Gardens. Without knowing anything about the Island, how does one pick which resort would be best based on the fact that they all have the same rating.

My wife and I are in our early forties and still like to have a good time. Most of my time will be spent having something to do with the water.

Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All 3 resorts are in the north of the island. In terms of luxury, I would probably rank them Cap Maison, followed by Windjammer, followed by Bay Gardens (i am guessing it would be the Bay Gardens Beach Resort)

All 3 are "beachfront". Bay Gardens, you walk directly out of the hotel onto the beach, no steps or hillsides. Windjammer is on a hillside, so some units are higher up than others - can be a bit of a hike, but they have frequent shuttles around the resort and rooms have amazing views. Cap Maison is on a cliff, with stairs leading down to the cove beach area.

BGBR has the longest stretch of beach with calm water, watersports for hire next door, is within a 15 minute walk of over 30 bars, restaurants, nightclubs and the casino, plus some shopping. Windjammer and Cap are both about a 10 minute car ride to the same restaurants and such. Windjammer has several restaurants on property - grill, pizza, asian, caribbean. Cap has one restaurant on site. BGBR has 2 restaurants on site, but again, within walking distance of loads more.

All 3 are about 1.5 hours from the main international airport and about 1 hour from the Pitons/volcano/mud baths, etc - if you plan on seeing those.

I would suggest looking at each of their websites for more info - pictures, room descriptions, property descriptions, etc.

Hope that helps some with clarifying the porperties a bit. Definitely check their websites though for more info. I know several owners at Windjammer are frequent posters here on TA- I am sure you will here from them soon and you can find out about what is included with the rental at WJ.

you wouldn't go wrong with any of them, they are all great properties.

You didn't say if you are using points or weeks. I am a Windjammer owner. Windjammer is a villa resort. It has lots of included water activities which the other two do not. We have sailboats, kayaks, daily snorkel trips, pedal boats, windsurfers, water aerobics classes and lots of other water activities included in your exchange. Scuba diving is extra but available at the resort with the onsite company. We have 5 restaurants to choose from and you are a short ride away from many more. There is a small but well-equipped gym. Many of the units have their own pool. The units are spacious and comfortable. We originally exchanged into Windjammer and then bought a unit here. There is a 24 hour free shuttle service that will take you to and from your unit if you are not into walking the hills. We don't use the shuttle most of the time but we are the exception. The villas have many different floor plans available. I am currently on property.

We have stayed at Cap Maison. If your exchange allows for one of their units with a pool they are really nice. I wasn't impressed with the units that didn't have that feature. The property is compact, has one restaurant, a small gym and a small cove beach which we thought was too shaded and too small. The main poolarea is quite small for the size of the property but the loungers are unbelievably comfortable and the highlight of our stay. We never wanted to get out of them. The onsite restaurant has a spectacular setting and fabulous (and very expensive) food.

Bay Gardens Beach Resort would be the bottom tier of the three but still a very nice place. It is located in Rodney Bay on Reduit Beach. You can walk to a multitude of restaurants, the mall and casino, grocery store. They have a nice pool. The rooms are pleasant and modern. There is a watersports place nearby that you can rent boats from if you wish to do those activities.

So I would also suggest you check out the various websites, see what your exchange might get you and go from there.

I too have stayed at Windjammer and Cap Maison. For wAtersports Windjammer is top as there is so much included. If you can get one of the more modern villas with a pool they are lovely. Cap Maison is more upmarket with an amazing restaurant. Pricier than Windjammer but very good. The beach is small but pretty. If you exchange into a hibiscus suite ar windjammer you are on the beach and would not require a shuttle. Bay gardens is a good option if you want easy access to the rodney bay nightlife and restaurants. Both Cap and Windjammer are more isolated and you would need a taxi to get to Rodney Bay.

You guys are awesome! If I may add: my time share is a points program. I have quite a few points to use so I don't think that will be a problem. Another thing that I am having trouble discerning is what is included in the all-inclusive package and what costs extra. As I stated before, I love anything to do with the water. So, are the water activities mentioned at the windjammer (which I am leaning towards) included or cost extra? I understand scuba diving to be extra (which I don't mind paying for incidentally) but what about all the other ones mentioned. Thanks again guys for all your input. Keep em coming.
