Anyone been to BodyHoliday in February?

My husband and I are planning a trip to St. Lucia in February, and we are trying to decide if BodyHoliday would be a good choice for us. I will be 6 months pregnant at the time.

My question is, is the resort extremely crowded in February? Are we going to have to fight for seats on the beach or by the pool? I'm assuming we will need to book spa treatments far in advance, but what about restaurants? It would be frustrating to go to the resort and feel like we have to make a mad dash for seats so that we can ensure a relaxing day on the beach or a nice meal in the evening.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

No, there will be little of the towel game, they have plenty of chairs and such all around the resort, by the pools and beach, etc. You may not get high prime spots, but you will get chairs. We are late risers (like 11) and have never had a problem finding a chair or having plenty of space in the pools, etc.

A planner will contact you in advance to book your included spa treatments, at that time you can book other treatments if you like. They have specials everyday on various treatmets too, sometimes it pays to wait. The spa is huge with lots of therapists, we have never had a problem getting an extra treatment. Considering you wil be 6 months pregnant, there will be few treatments you can take anyways, some facials and mani/pedis, etc and maybe a pregnancy massage, but by no means most of them treatments available. That's too bad - they have so many things to try.

Feb is peak season and the resort will be close to full occupancy - of not completely full. There are no reservations needed for any restaurants except Tao, and the last we knew, you could not book in advance, but only once you were on property. That may have changed. Defintely check into that once you speak with your vacation planner to book your spa treatments.

Being pregnant, AI at BH may not be the best choice as you can't drink or take advantage of the many spa treatments. If it must be AI, consider Rendezvous, BHs sister property - excelent flat property (no hills or large amounts of stairs, etc) long stretch of beach, beautiful grounds, excellent food also, lazy river, pools, watersports (for hubby!) and a closer to town, so you can walk into Castries to see the craft & food market (recently rated #3 food market in the world by NatGeo), duty free shopping, etc. Much longer beach than BH. You can also visit BH for a day or for dinner as they are sister properties and enjoy their amenities. Rendezvous is also about 30 minutes closer to Soufriere and the Pitons, etc experiences down there.

What happened to Ladera?? Just curious.

Enjoy, whichever you visit.

we are still considering ladera.

how does bodyholiday compare to rendezvous, aside from the nicer beach? it looks like both have food and beverage included int he price, though rendezvous does not include spa treatments daily.

That is one of the main differences - no included spa treatments at Rendezvous. Considering how far along you are in your pregancy - not a big loss, I should think! Rendezvous is usually less expensive than LeSport, so you could use the difference to pay for the few treatments you could have, if you wanted.

Both are all-inclusives. Rendezvous is adults-only and couples only and usually a good mix of ages and nationalities. LeSport is mostly adults only, 16 and over when you would be visiting, and there are singles, couples and groups. Renzdezvous has a more romatic feel over all, IMO, with the double sunbeds, etc. Much larger, flat grounds that LeSport, beautiful lush gardens, lazy river, and so on. Much longer stretch of beach and close to town so you could easily walk to the craft & food market, duty free shopping, etc. Rendezvous is our favorite AI on the island.

Good luck with your research. I still stand by the thought that with only 5 nights, Ladera or another resort in the Soufriere area would be best. Enjoy your visit.
