tipping a housekeeper/cook

Hi folks - I'm renting a house in St. Lucia for a week in June, and the deal includes a housekeeper/cook who's at the house during the day. I've never had the pleasure of such a setup.

How does tipping work in this situation? Something each day? At the end of the week? And what's fair?

Seems villas in St. Lucia vary on how they charge.

Personally I'd e-mail the villa owner or manager, for their recommendation.

It's nice to be clearly aware of what your initial charges cover. Tax included or not, service fees, etc.,
