West coast road

We will be visiting St Lucia next week but I have read on the government web site that the west coast road is closed. We want to travel from Hewanorra Airport up to Soufriere and then on to Rodney Bay after a week. The west coast road is the obvious route but is it closed? If it is are there alternative routes to Soufriere first of all and then to Rodney Bay?

Thanks for your help.

Bon jou DMndevon,

There are no road closures on island.

There are a few one lane only spots because of slope stabilization works (Barre de L'Isle or road / bridge repairs (Bois d'Orange (Castries), Bexon, Vieux Fort, Soufriere, Canaries, Anse La Raye) that may or may not slow traffic.

Bless up! Paul
