Sint Maarten/St martin Budget Hotel

Hello-

I am going to be staying on the island, either side, for one night waiting for flight or ferry the next day. I want to find a budget hotel or guest house for that one night. If anyone is in this same situation for Feb 7th I would even consider splitting a room (single/female). So you don't have to ask, budget to me is 150US or less. I get in late and I am leaving early so there is no point to spend more on this room.

Do you think I could have luck as a walk up?

Thanks in advance!

This cozy little B&B is next to the airport and of course a full breakfast is included in the room rate.

Well thank you for helping me. Still open to more requests. The first, Turtle Inn was booked. Turqoise has a minimum stay and I am waiting to hear from the travel inn which is by far the cheapest and I have my fingers crossed.

Thanks. Keep you posted and provide info upon my return. Again, any other ideas, let me know.

Have friends who stay at Mary Boon - not far from airport. Where are you leaving from by ferry - might be better to be closer to ferry landing if it is an early time.

Well I am or was considering flying since it seems my ferry info was not correct. I was told it was 90 US round trip, but then the web site says 100 plus port fees. Not sure what the fee is-any ideas? I e-mailed the Ferry service but have not heard yet.

Hi - you don't say where your ferry is going from (or to) but if it is from Marigot then The Fantastic Guest House (www.fantasticguesthouse.com) is very reasonably priced. It has been there for many years & is often used by yacht crews just wanting a bed ashore. Even if you are arriving at & leaving from the airport you may find that room + taxi fare (with light traffic it is about a 15 minute drive) is cheaper than a lot of the places near the airport.

Hi there. I am kind of lost on where The Edge departs from. I would prefer this one because the departure from Saba is not in the dark. So I am going to Saba, don't care which ferry. If I take the Ferry I need to be on the earliest back to St. Maarten so I can go to St. Barts that same day. So your recommendations are welcome. Will check your guest house link. Thanks

Hi - The Edge ferry departs from Pelican Marina in Simpson Bay. So, of the suggestions made, The Travel Inn is the closest - about a 15 minute walk. The Pelican Resort, Atrium Hotel & Royal Palm Hotel are nearer but they are all time share / minimum night stay places. Having said that, I do know people who have called the Atrium a couple of days in advance & got a room just for a night at a good rate so they might be worth a call. Personally, I would not opt for the walk up option, especially if you are arriving late - night time gambling should be reserved for the casinos!

As for flying instead, check out Winair (www.fly-winair.com) for the times you want. They sometimes run specials on Saba flights.

MY brother got a walk-in rate at Sonesta Maho for $175.0/night 2 weeks ago.
