If we want to be able to walk to Marigot, where can we stay?

We would like to try and stay somewhere within a 10-15 min walk to Marigot. besides staying directly in Marigot, can anyone recommend any other areas we can choose from. Can you walk from Maho or Simpson Bay to Marigot? Or take a water taxi or anything? How far is Orient Bay to Marigot? How far is Grand Case to Marigot? Thanks!

The places you referenced are not within walking distance of Marigot.

Hotel Beach Plaza is within walking distance of the Marina Port La Royale and the waterfront area as well as the main parts of town.

Thanks. Do you know the cost of the water taxi and also, how late at night do they run? Thanks!

St Martin is a destination best explored by renting a car. The island is small enough so that nothing is more than 35-45 minutes away. This allows you to explore all of the grat beaches. We usually rent an economy car for less than $200/week looking for the best deals on Expedia and Travelocity. Staying in or by Marigot is probably not a great plan as the beaches there are not the best. Also, by the time you are done with taxis you will have spent more than a car rental.
