Carribean Princess ship-how to get to Front Street

Hello there!

We will be on the Carribean Princess going into St. Maarten 2nd week of June! We are soooo excited! There are 8 in our group!

How far is the ship to Phillipsburg and to shopping areas such as Front Street?

Any suggestions for a 1/2 or full day tour? Our group is a mix of 50 year olds and young adults (21-25). THANKS!!!!!

Some cruise ships will drop you off in the center of town while others will leave you at the main terminal, a 20 minute walk or 1 minute taxi ride to Front Street.

Can't help with the best tour company, sure someone with experience will chime in.

I believe there are also water taxi's from the Pier to town. About $6 return.

there are water taxis from the dock which wil drop you off in the center of town.

I see many people walking it too. It's maybe a 10 minute walk to the beginning of the town.

Hi!

Could anyone tell me how to get to the open-air market on the Marigot waterfront (the French-side Capitol)? I think the girls would love visiting there!

Is the "Downtown Area" Front and Back Street" in Phillipsburg large? How many blocks is it?

THANKS for your help!!!!

Greetings Barcann, Bobcat, and sxmlover!

Thank you for your replies! We have heard of Pamela Joyce as tour guide; however she may not be available. Any other suggestions to do a half day island tour would be wonderful!

Should we hop onto a taxi van and get the driver to do the tour? Any other reputable, fun tour guides in the islands? We love learning about the history, culture and people! Knowing the girls in our group, I am sure they would enjoy shopping at the open markets in Marigot (French side) as well as going to the downtown area of Phillipsburg. Can't wait!!! Thanks again for your assistance! Take care!
