Villa/Condo holiday rental pricing

Greetings,

We are thinking about traveling to St. Maarten/St. Martin for 10 days over the holidays, and finding that most places will cost between $600-$700 a night for a 2 bedroom unit. I am writing to find out if I'm just looking at more expensive websites or whether this is the average cost for units on the island during this busy time. We've never traveled to St. Maarteen/St. Martin before (we've been to St. John the past three years), however, we now have two young children (they will be 2 1/2 and 10 months) and thought it might be easier for us to get to and have more "baby friendly" items such as crib rental. However, we may have to rethink our options if this is the average price on the island.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts you may have.

Melissa

That sounds really high to me. Perhaps for a villa? But not a condo.

Grand Case Beach Club has 2-bedroom units available for $395/night during the holiday season (I assume you're talking about the Christmas timeframe). It seems to be pretty family friendly. I've never stayed there, but other posters here speak highly of it.

Thanks for the replies! In my effort to be conscise, I clearly didn't include enough information---my apologies Our travel dates are December 22nd through January 2nd. I've been looking on homeaway.com and various rental websites. Having never been to the island, I was starting to get very discouraged by the pricing after several hours of searching. If that sounds high, then I'll keep looking!

Thanks,

Melissa

Prime travel time - you should try Sandy Molloy of Molloy Travel, Sandy is the Island expert on travel and may be able to assist you - at least ask her for some quotes.

If you send me your e-mail address through the internal messaging system here, I know of 2 condo owners with very upscale condos that would charge much less than that price. We are already rented for that time period or else I would have offered ours.
