Fiona

Am I right to be concerned about a Sept. 4th arrival in St.. Maarten? Looks like Fiona will be moving along the same path as earl. I realize Earl will be gone by Sat. but Fiona looks like she might pose a problem, any thoughts?

Hope all who are there are ok.

Yes, it may be a problem. We may get a 1 - 2 punch. Keep an eye on it.

We've been calling it Fiona for days now. All advisories say it will happen.

Bit of fearmongering I guess.

Trivia Time

Hurricane names repeat themselves every six years.

Particularily devestating hurricanes names are retired.

What 5 hurricane names from 2005 were retired?

Fiona should be halfway up the eastern coast of US by Saturday so I think I might be ok...assuming a new storm doesn't develop. Looks like I am not going to cancel for the 4th.

Fearmongering? Methinks not...here is Fiona's path...http://www.stormpulse.com/tropical-storm-fiona-2010

any small deviation and St Martin gets a direct hit...as it is, it appears that Fiona's wrath will be felt at least to some extent....be safe all...

I'm hearing that Earl has knocked the legs out from under Fiona by cooling down the waters. Fiona may not make it past a tropical storm. Fingers crossed!

We're arriving on the 4th, too.

I went to: www.stormpulse.com/tropical-storm-fiona-2010 that another visitor here posted and keeping an eye on her that way. Right now, she's 595 miles away from St. M.

Hope we all arrive there and find things are just as beautiful as they were when last we visited

right now Fiona doesn't look to be hitting hurricane status and the storm itself looks to be veering away from the islands if it sticks to projections...good news indeedy...
