Child safe pool

We like to visit St Maarten or Anguilla in febr./march 2011. We are 4 adults and travel with a one year old child. Very important is the safety of the pool. Does anyone know a villa for rent with a child safe pool?

Have never heard of a child safe pool. What does that mean?

I should point out that even in a wading pool adult supervision is required. Your child should never be left alone. No lifeguards are on duty at the pool.

If you don't get an answer here, may I suggest you get the help of Sandy Molloy. stmartin-stmaartentravelspecialists.com She visits many if not most of the villas on the island and can give you first hand knowledge.

There is no such thing as a "child safe pool"!

i agree that no pool is totally child safe. i think the OP is referring to some of the newer boca codes (building codes) here in the states which require an immediate fence around a pool and/or alarms which go off when anything enters the water. i research a lot of villas in the islands and that is not the norm. not only don't they have to follow US boca codes but most of the pools are built not only for cooling relaxation but for their beauty and view. in addition a lot of the newer pools are infinity style. safety fencing would prohibit the views and detract from the overall asthetics of the pool area.

Thanks for the tips, you're very helpful. I'll contact Molly. I also followed the suggestion to find a villa without pool, but on the Internet it seems they all have a pool. Does anyone know a villa without a pool?
