beach at flamingo resort

I was wondering what the beach was like at the flamingo resort in the summer. Is it very crowded? Is the beach kept clean? What is the water color? Is the ocean very rough in that in area? Are there chairs and umbrellas? If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The beach at the Flamingo during the summer (the slow season) is not nearly as crowded as during the high season. The beach is kept clean by the beach attendants and there are plenty of chairs and unbrellas if you don't get to the beach early enough to secure a cabana. There is an overhead view of the beach area on the Diamond Resort web-site.

The beach behind the breakwater is calmer than the beach on the pool side.

On the down side, some restaurants are closer during the slow season but there are still plenty of great restaurants including Topper's by the Sea, right on the beach in front of the Flamingo Resort.

Don't miss Topper's, yum!

That beach is not as sandy as other beaches on the island. While it's very beautiful it tends to have more shells / coral than others.

I beg to differ as I have found the Flamingo beach sandy without shells and coral. Been going to the Flaming for ten years now and love the beach.

Hi Keeburna,

Have only been to Flamingo in May so cant advise regarding Summer. I would imagine it would NOT be crowded in the Summer months???

May was not very crowded but the same folks grabbed the palapas daily. The beach attendant however will provide umbrellas & lounges no charge.

The beach is small but quite scenic..calm for the most part with about a 6 inch drop off. Many boats in the harbour area and it is interesting to watch the planes take off in the distance. The sand is coarser than say Divi Little Bay or Belair which both have powdery white sand. I did not see any shells nor rocks in the swimming sections. If you like to snorkle Divi has a great area. I didnt see much @ Flamingo.

Toppers restaurant/beach bar is conveniently located on site. Peli Deli, Red Piano Bar, Casino ,several restaurants and boat to Marigot are all a short walk away. (I dont rent a car but would advise you to as the taxis are EXPENSIVE!)!

There is a local bus system nearby but I havent figured it out yet..LOL

I am returning again to Flamingo this May and hopefully an additional week either @ Divi or Belaire. Enjoy!

The Flamingo is beautiful, I went with my family last summer. The only thing that was not pleasant was that there were a lot of jelly fish in the water. A couple of my friends and I will be returning mid July, we are so excited.
