Brings wine back to USA from St. Martin

Can you bring back wine/vodka in your luggage from St. Martin to USA? Jet Blue airlines?

If yes, how much?

Yes, you can bring wine/vodka in your checked luggage from St. Martin to the US. You can bring 1 liter of alcoholic beverages into the US "duty free". You can bring in more, as long as it's a "reasonable amount" for gifts or your own consumption but you must declare the excess amount and pay duty on the amount over 1 liter. Depending on how much you a bring back the customs officials may choose to waive any additional duty.

I saw bubble wrap bags to seal glass bottles in for your luggage at The Container Store (no affiliation, etc. ) I always worry about the bottle breaking during the shipment.
