My wife and I have always stayed at all inclusive resorts where they have chairs set up on the beach, the drinks on the beach are included, they have multiple restraunts on site, and there is nightly entertainment. Are there any resorts like this in St. Martin? If not, what do you have to bring with you to the beach, a chair, drinks, etc.?

Dutch Side

Sonesta Maho

Sonesta Great Bay

French Side

Le Flamboyant

Mercure Simpson Bay

These four for sure offer AI - could be others in the future with changes at a property on the French side.

AI is not the way to go here - too many fine restaurants - as to chairs on the beach , etc, most hotels AI or not offer this to guests as routine.

St Martin is not really that type of destination. You would really be cheating yourself if you went to an AI and didn't explore the rest of the Island. Almost every beach has chairs for rent and bars. Some even provide the chairs and umbrellas for free if you are eating there. We occasionally go to an AI in other countries, but we love being able to go from beach to beach each day in St Martin.

We are staying for the first time at La Plantation in Orient Beach. They have deals set up with some of the beach bars to provide chairs for their guests for free, and the hotel offers breakfast (although with the offerings around, we may go to other places). However, we are looking forward to visiting other beaches and exploring the island.
