Villas at Simpson Bay and Marna Beach

Thinking of staying at the Villas at Simpson Bay and Marina for my first trip to SXM, how are the beaches? Can you snorkel there as well?

Snorkeling at the Villas I would say no but there are several suitable beaches nearby.

You can definitely snorkel at the Villas. There is no sandy beach in front of the hotel but they have a stone bulkhead with a dock that you can walk onto and climb down a few steps into the water. Water is usually waist deep when you enter but you can snorkle where ever you please, even over into the nearby beaches.

The villas are part of the Simpson Bay resort complex. They have a great beach area that is shared with the Flamingo. Very good snorkling along the break water and rocks with calm water. I stay at the Flamingo and have snorkled there many times since it is our beach too. Nice corals and both large and small colorfull fish along with spotted moorey eels.
