Best way to get to Willy T's off Norman Island

We are planning a Virgin Island vacation in May 2013.

We are planning to stay 4 nights on St John's USVI and 4 nights on Virgin Gorda BVI.

We like to visit Willy T's while there. Whats is the best way to get there without your own boat?

Look into hiring someone to take you or go to TA Virgin Is for help, we did a bar tour a few years back hitting several out of the way places but we hired a boat to take us around

LOCAL KNOWLEDGE: Boatless visitors can hitch a free ride on the Willie T's supply boat, Wet Willie, that leaves Tortola (it's docked at Nanny Cay Marina) daily at 5 p.m., returning that evening whenever the fun's done. Call 284-496-6416 to let them know you're coming.

I suggest contacting the agency from whom you are renting your accommodations on VG and see if they have recommendations for roundtrip transportation to WT.

We will not be staying on Tortola, so that will not work for us.

When you arrive in VG ask around for ways to get to Willie T's, I'm sure someone will be able to help

Isn't it much closer to STJ than to VG?

Think that it is closer to get to Willy T from St. John than VG. Make friends with some locals that have a boat, you never know who may offer you a ride to head somewhere. Otherwise I would do a 1/2 day or full day charter from St. John and you will get to see Willy T, you could snorkle the caves and indians, and even make it to Jost Van Dyke to experience it all. Been to Willy T several times but usually early day around lunch. Fun place but eating lunch and few drinks is enough to experience it. 2 or 3 hrs and you should be good.

Do Not Go To Willy Ts from St. John without first clearing out of customs and then into the BVI -- you'll have to do it at West End or Road Town or Virgin Gorda. If you do not properly enter into the BVI, you will be thrown in jail for 6 months. A fellow was just sentenced today for this "crime." They are nuts about these things in the BVI. Don't tempt fate.
