Where to Go/What to Do on 1-Day BVI visit

Hello:

We want to do a one day and possible overnight visit to one of the

BVI from STT. If you only had one day -where would you go and what would you do? Also, where would you stay for just one night?

What are your interests? Do you want to do beaches, snorkeling, partying, shopping? High end resorts, moderate accommodations, fine dining, self catering? We can assist you more effectively if you give us some ideas....alashas http://www.youtube.com/user/honeymoon2

We are interested in what other people like about the BVI and would like to hear what choices each person would make. Our interests are varied and open at this point. Guess we'd like to see what's unique about them and which are accessible easily for a quick stop over. What are they known for aside from the obvious beaches?

Well, they share the same island chain as STT, so, similar geography in that they all have a volcanic origin, except for Anegada, which is a coral atoll, flat, arid, and has miles of deserted beaches on its north shore. It's the most unique island in the entire VI. The other unique geographic formation are the Baths on the southern end of VG. Tortola is the largest of the islands, and around 85% of the population of the BVI lives on that island. It's north shore beaches, esp. Cane Garden Bay (made famous in part by Jimmy Buffett) are its main attractions. If you want a contrast to STT for a day in the BVI, try Anegada, VG, or JVD (White Bay is one of the most highly regarded beaches in the Caribbean, with a # of beach bars and restaurants, including the well known Soggy Dollar. Foxy's, one of the most famous bars in the Caribbean is in Great Harbour). I suggest staying a night or 2 to get a feel for that island. If you can afford it, the private resort on Peter Island is outstanding. We've never been to Guana Is., but hear similar good things about it. We're partial to the BVI over the USVI because they are more laid back and, therefore more relaxing, which is our primary objective when we vacation.

You are very welcome, happy to answer additional questions. By the way, Hocking Hills State Park, Logan, Ohio, is one of our favorite places on the East Coast. I trust as "NatureLovers" that you had had the opportunity to hike the trails to the falls and caves. I've got quite a few videos here, including the falls completely frozen in a Jan., 2011 trip:

Thanks, wfpmi, appreciate your feedback. We love the BVI, especially VG, where we learned to scuba dive with Dive BVI 10 yrs ago. We've stayed on all of the major islands except Guana.

All the best, alashas http://www.youtube.com/user/honeymoon2friends
