Need best guide books, maps and beaches for Virgin Gorda

Going to Virgin Gorda for the first time next month w/ hubby.

Are there specific guide books and maps that I should purchase before hand?

Also, what are the best beaches on Virgin Gorda?

Thanks in advance.

My favorite maps:

guavaberryspringbay.com/pdf/map_northside.pdf

guavaberryspringbay.com/pdf/map_valley.pdf

I also like Franko's Map of the BVI. Great information on dives and snorkels.

While I was there Mahagony gave me Skyviews Road Map and Pocket Guide to the BVI which was also useful.

The guide books for Virgin Gorda are pretty limited. I found none of them to be really good, but "The Best of The Bristish Virgin Islands" was the best of the lot.

Best Beaches: Devils Bay, The Baths, Spring Bay, The Crawl, Little Trunk, and Valley Trunk down at the bottom of the island are sublime. All have the famous boulders; Spring, The Crawl, Trunk, and Valley Trunk without the crowds of The Baths and Devils Bay, though those are easily seen minus people before 10am and after 4pm. Savannah and Pond are beautiful, have nice palapas, and good snorkeling. Mahoe has great snorkeling. Mountain Trunk and Long also have good snorkeling. All of these can be reached by car and a short walk. Other beaches on the north end of the island are accessed by boat (rent a dingy from Leverick).

I ordered a book about VG written by a long-term villa owner. I can't remember the name (I loan it to my travelling companion) or the author's name - Joann Something (Italian)

Hopefully someone knows the name of the book or the author's name. It was wonderfully informative. I liked the profiles of the businesses and the owners that we will be visiting next month.

That's a book by Joan Soncini:

We looked at it when we were on the island. It's an interesting book---interviews, profiles, photos. Not a travel guide, though. We were searching for a guide similar to those available for St John, but never found one.

Maybe VG is too small to have its own guidebook, haha?

This is a book which I had seen in the gift shops here:

amazon.com/Best-British-Virgin-Islands-Indis…

I've seen few others as well, I will go and have look at the titles today.

This website has tons of information:
