Thank you for the link. I am sure your temporal assessment of the construction period is correct.
Ahhhhh! We are heading to VG on 5/20 and was planning on Air Sunshine from SJ to VG. What are my best alternatives?
You have a couple of different options. You can use Air Sunshine or Cape Air (which most people I have talked to like better than Air Sunshine. Considerably less quirky) from SJU to Tortola and ferry over from Trellis Bay. You can fly direct to St Thomas and ferry to VG (depending on the day it can be direct or through Tortola).
I am scheduled to arrive in SJU at 1:21pm and could book the AS flight from SJU to Tortola at 2:30pm or 5pm.... and then I see that North Sound Express departs Trellis Bay at 4pm & 6pm. Seems like that will work... I may have to opt for the later times to be safe.
For the return we would need to catch the North Sound Express from the Valley at 11:20am (or may be safer to stick with the 8:20am) to Tortola and then the AS flight to SJU at 12:30pm for a 4:25 from SJU back home.
Any experience with North Sound Express and/or customs in Tortola that I should be aware of?
Customs are quick and easy and North Sound Express is very dependable. I think you will be very surprised and pleased with how easy it goes.
North Sound offers a great service. I would however double check their schedule on the day. Their service from Trellis Bay to Spanish Town, Virgin Gorda is 15 minutes, bear in mind that the return ferry from Spanish Town to Trellis takes a scenic route along the North shore of Virgin Gorda & therefore will take 1hr 15mins. North Sound Express also offer private charters, so if the schedule doesn't suit you have another option. Another alternative to Cape Air/Air Sunshine is taking a private air charter with Island Birds (www.islandbirds.com) from SJU/STT to EIS (Beef Island). They have never let me down & the beauty of a private charter is going when you want.
We are finalizing our travel details for our return to VG in 6 weeks. With the Virgin Gorda airport closure, our Nail Bay reservation agent, Kasha, has taken our arrival and departure times and is making taxi and boat arrangements with the BVI tourist Board Reps at Beef Island to get us to Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbor! This should get us there in time to shop at Bucks before they close!
The Virgin Gorda Airport is closed and will remain so until November at a minimum. The runway is being lengthened and paved. This is what is being reported in the local newspaper.

Hello all...I am trying to plan a honeymoon and I would love some input from you all. I will be traveling from Dallas, Texas (DFW) on October 24 and would like to stay at the Rosewood at Little Dix Bay.
Also, are there any places or restaurants that you would recommend while we are there? We will be staying for a week.
Thanks in advance!
Congratulations on your upcoming nuptials. I am celebrating 20 years today.
Yes, that is the easiest travel route.
