Guavaberry or villa on Leverick?

My husband and I are planning a trip in March, and trying to decide whether to stay in a 1 BR unit at Guavaberry, or rent the top unit of a 2BR villa in Leverick Bay called Lil Blue. We've not stayed in VG before, but it looks to me like Leverick Bay is more touristy and crowded, so I'm leaning towards Guavaberry. But, I like to be right on the sea so I can hear the ocean at night, and I'm not sure Guavaberry is that close to the beach.

We like a quiet place, but with restaurants and things not too far away. We will rent a car, so doesn't have to be in walking distance.

Any help/suggestions are much appreciated!

Lev is not "more touristy and crowded," it is large and spread out over the side of a hill, from the top all the way down to the water. On certain occasions, such as the Fri night BBQ with a live band and mocko jumbies, it will be crowded. There is a lot to do in the North Sound area, in terms of visiting beaches and restaurants at the other resorts on the other NS islands, and the Lev Bay Marina is well thought out, with one of the best restaurants on VG, a small grocery store with an excellent deli, and one of the best spas we have ever used. The views of North Sound are stunning, you get some of the best breezes on VG, and you'll have a lot of privacy at Lil Blue.

The tradeoff is there are 2 relatively small beaches at Lev. I believe either this photo or the next one is the beach in front of Lil Blue:

There will be very few other people on those beaches, since most people who go to VG primarily for the beaches are at the outstanding beaches on the southern part of VG - all of those beaches are within walking distance of GSB. In addition, several restaurants are within walking distance, and, many more are just a short drive.

Here are some photos of GSB

Thanks for the info. Who do you use for diving, if you don't mind me asking?

P.S, I notice you are from Charlottesville as well. Makes me trust your recommendations that much more!

Hi Neighbors! On VG, we use http://www.divebvi.com/ and give them our highest recommendation. We first learned to dive with them in 2003, and have been to a dozen Caribbean islands since then, but Dive BVI remains at the top of our list. Great staff who are very well trained as well as very personable, excellent dive boats with plenty of room for gear, lots of shade, and working heads. The diving in the BVI has a lot of diversity from a healthy and colorful fringing reef system to a good number of wrecks, including the Wreck of the Rhone, one of the most famous wrecks in the Caribbean, and perhaps even the world. I wrote this article a couple of yrs ago on the 140th anniversary of the wreck of the
