Villa for September

We're looking for a villa near the Baths or Spring Bay for September, preferably on the beach. Can anyone suggest a nice place. We've been looking at the Beach House, has anyone stayed there, or can tell me anything about its location? Our party will consist of 2 small children, is that an appropriate place for them? Thanks for any advice.

1. Re: Villa for September

If you are looking for villas in that area, I would contact Tiina or Valerie at Guavaberry, http://www.guavaberryspringbay.com , as they manage quite a few villas at that end of the island. You might also try Cheryl at Purple Pineapple on Tortola http://www.purplepineapple.com for any others.

One thing to be aware of is that September is REALLY slow on Virgin Gorda. The island is like a ghost town. Many restaurants and shops are closed. Availability of groceries is VERY limited. The weather is very hot and humid, with less breeze, so I would look for a place with A/C in the bedrooms. It is also the height of hurricane season. Personally, September is the only month of the year that I wish I wasn't here, and like many others on the island I try to go away for the whole month. If you like solitude and self-sufficiency, it's great, but if you want good dining choices and choices for activities other than sitting on the beach, it's not a great time to come to VG.
