Lodging Advice

We are heading to Virgin Gorda next March from St. John. We primarily wanted to visit VG for bouldering in the baths area. We have 2 adults and 1 8 yr old. Do you have any recommendations on places to stay that have access the boulders within walking distance?

if not, any suggestion on lodging that is not fancy, and is on a beach or within a block or two? I have surfed through the lodging options and nothing is jumping out at me (that isn't very expensive!).

Many thanks,

Kristine

Would you please let us know your budget range? We should be able to suggest many properties in the southwest area of the island.

You should look at Guavaberry Spring Bay Cottages or the villas they represent. All within walking distance to the Baths.

Regarding budget, I'd like to stay around $300/night if that is possible.

Guavaberry is $347.75 (including tax) a night for a two bedroom cottage that may be built next to a boulder. A little out of your budget but a good deal on VG in season. As noted, you are within a five minute walk or so from their private beach entrance to Spring Bay with its good snorkeling and great boulder climbing activities. The 24 hour access to their fully stocked commissary is an added bonus.

how long are you staying? You can rent a villa sometimes cheaper than the hotel rooms.

check out this link:

You could get a two bedroom here for around $175 per night. They are on a side street. They are close to the downtown area and not too far from the Baths.

Will you have a car for a couple of days?

There is also a place called Bayview that is very reasonable, but fill up quickly. Not in walking distance though to the Baths.

PM me and I can give you another recommendation.

Also look at Fischer's Cove and I would also look at Virgin Gorda Village.

If The Baths National Park is your only reason for going then a day trip from STJ might make more sense. It's not really a place that you need to spend days at. Virgin Gorda is a great place to stay, just depends on what you want.
