Thinking about going to Caymans for the first time

This is an exploratory post. We are looking for a new place to go this fall/winter. We will be taking this trip between November and March. Have yet to decide on a specific week. Any suggestions as to which week to select? What is considered peak? Any weeks to avoid? Thanks in advance. Tom

March is peak. Starts to get busy towards the end of Feb and into mid April. IMHO, March has the best weather as we've been many times at various times during the year. That said, it's the most expensive too. Not a traditional spring break destination but you will see more young people vacation with friends and family. Not a party destination in the usual sense when one thinks of "spring break". I think you'll be good to go in November (miss the bulk of the hurricane season) and easy on the wallet. Christmas/New Year's can be busy. Others will chime in with their ideas too...good luck. Tough to go wrong with the CI's.

Xmas break, Feb vacation, spring beak, etc. The airfare can vary greatly, so you may want to research that also.

If you're looking for a good deal, don't go over Christmas/New Years. Many places add surcharges during those weeks. Huge swings in airfares as Dian said between off season and peak. Weather is pretty much great whenever you go. More breezes in the winter, but they are nice to have.

The island has more condos than hotels. They are usually located on the beach. The main tourist strip is along Seven Mile Beach. If you prefer to get away from that type of area the other side of the island is lovely too, but the beach is much nicer on SMB.

Good luck in your search and post any additional questions as they come up
