Lobster Pot and proximity to shopping?

Looking to have a nice dinner at the Lobster Pot but hoping to get in a little shopping beforehand. Is the duty free shopping a short distance away? Is it true that most of the shops close at 5? Is there a better restaurant you would choose in Georgetown? Will probably only go into town once. Thanks!

Yes the shops close at 5 PM and yes, you can easily walk to the Lobster Pot after shopping in George Town. I don't know what you would consider " better " but there a number of good restaurants in George Town. You can get an overview at caymangoodtaste.com using the map function., and check locations and menus. Check with the Lobster Pot if that is where you choose to eat. During busy seasons they restrict their evening seatings to 2 specific times which may or may not work for you. They waived it for us but we were there during a very slow month.

I would opt for Casanova rather than Lobster Pot. And it's a shorter walk from George Town.

La Dolce Vita is also a good choice near Georgetown.
