For both ready food and general grocery. At home I use whole foods. Thoughts ?
I realize no Trader Joe's or Wholefood's
For ready made foods, I would pick the hot bar at Fosters. Stew fish, oxtail, plantain other local fare and then the standard fast food wings, fries and the like. Just make sure to get there before noon on a weekday. I would take the length of the lunch line as a good indication of both the quality and value.
I will be driving to east end from airport. Which is easiest to pick up some snacks like some good cheeses, fresh bread, pâté, wine, olives, etc. I don't mind if I have to go a bit out kf my way for good food. Thank you for the great advice in this forum.

There is a Blackbeard's liquor store next door to Hurley's that you can check for wine. But you might want to stop at the Jacques Scott in the Countryside Shopping Centre further east in Savannah for a larger selection. (JS is to you immediate left as you enter the complex.)
If you want some outstanding olives, savoury pastries, etc., check out ICOA (bread selection to die for).. It is not a grocery store . . . it is more boutique. Just thinking of the display makes my mouth water!! Great little place to stop for breakfast or lunch either. You will find the grocery stores have a better selection of cheese and pates, etc., than many of their American counterparts as they have so many wonderful European products. Even the European butter is a real treat!
