Rum point early am

We will be staying near Rum Point in a few months. I know Rum Point can get busy especially with Cruise ship passengers. What time typically would it get crowded. I am a early riser and am looking forward to some quiet beach time.

We walk up there around 9 or so and it's empty--just beautiful at that time of day. They are busy cleaning the tables and raking the sand.

The cruise ship passengers seem to come in waves. We usually hang out for awhile after they start coming in and when it gets too crowded we pack up and head out. It can provide for some interesting people watching :)

Agreed with other posters. Early morning at Rum Point and even on SMB is serene. Barkers on the other hand is much nicer in the afternoon.

When Rum Point gets busy, you can head over to Kaibo for lunch, not the beautiful shallow water, but you're on the beach

What's the beach at Kaibo like?

It is man-made and the sand is a bit coarser than you'll find most other places. The sea bottom is eel grass and a bit spongy/squishy. Water is opaquely green tinted.

May give you an idea

It is a marina, not an area where I would consider swimming.
