to rent or not to rent

Hello

We are heading to GC for our first trip later this week and it could be raining a lot. We originally planned just to rent a car for one day to go to Rum Point. But I have read the posts that say it could be nice on one part of the island while raining on another. So maybe we should rent a car for the whole stay? It's just a 5 day trip. We are staying on SMB. (We have traveled in the "rainy season" a lot in Central America and know it doesn't have to mean steady downpours, but are still a bit bummed by the forecast....) Thanks!

I'd just go ahead and rent the car if it is in your budget. The freedom is offers is great and you really can decide to do something spur of the moment. Driving out the East End is lovely too!

Just got back from a week there. Loved it of course. We rented a car from Marshalls for the week and enjoyed the freedom it provided. If you can swing it, do it.

I agree with Retrip.if it's in your budget, rent for the whole time. In case you get some bad weather you can do some touring. blow holes are fun to see if the wind is blowing. It just gives you so much more flexibility and summer rates should be pretty good.

Ok, will do. Best to rent before or when we get there? Thanks!

Definitely before.....so you'll be all set. Just go to the place that you rent from which will be across from the airport.
