Trip Report - Feb. 12-18th

We loved our first trip to CI! Check in at the airport was easy, as was catching a taxi to Comfort Suites. We loved CSuites. Nothing fancy, but it offered everything we wanted and had a lovely pool and bar area. Walked to Sunshine Grill (a nice walk, but wear your walking shoes!) for fish tacos the first night. Great service and a fun place. For Valentine's Day, the manager at CS suggested Cimbocos. Lobster tail (small) & steak for only $26/person. Cheap even by US standards! Very good meal and an easy walk from CS. Coconut Joe's was another great place to eat....wanted to get back there, but ran out of time. We rented a car and drove to Rum Point....loved that area. We also booked the Stingray/snorkeling tour through Captain Marvins and had a good experience. We did the Caribbean Luau through Stingers Bar and that would be one outing we would not do again. Actually, we might watch it, but would watch from the bar to save half the money and get a better meal. Luau was kind of hokey. We also stopped at Reef Grill. We were going to have supper, but didn't really find anything that appealed to us so we just had drinks and hot wings. We did have a wonderful time and as everyone told us, Cayman people were very friendly. The beach in front of Marriot/Comfort Suites, was a little more "dirty" because of waves bringing stuff up on the beach, but they were working at cleaning it up. Not a big deal....the beach a little down from us was breathtaking. Beautiful water. Caymans are my #1 island....so far!

Glad to hear you are another satisfied first timer to the CI's. Most people end up falling for the place and return time and again...such as us. We got bit by the Cayman bug in 1998 and no other Caribbean destination lives up to the overall positives of these islands.

As we(and a good portion of the NE) sit here with 40 mile an hour winds, SNOW again....my husband said..."let's go. pack your bags. Call GC ..."

Getting on TA and reading of peoples adventures in paradise...makes these frigid nights seem a little warmer.

Glad u liked it there. We too fell in love and can't wait to return!
