Nightlife question for upcoming trip

Hello,

We have a girlfriends trip coming up and would love some nightlife suggestions - we are all in our 40's and looking for some ideas. Thanks!

Karaoke night at Havana Club, Dancing Saturday night at Royal Palms, Rock n'Roll bingo at The Lone Star, full moon party at Calico Jack's (if there is one while you are there). The resident night life expert Saj will hopefully chime in on the clubs and bars! Did go to a masked event at the RC but it was so packed we ended up at Calicos but it was fun to get all decked out to go to a party! There are also often events in Camana Bay . . . otherwise a place like Karoo might be fun, but I will leave that to the expert along with what nights to go to Aqua Beach etc.

Sadly Aqua Beach is now closed. For dancing, Karma on a Friday night is a lot of fun and a really good crowd. It will close at 1 and at that point, people move along to OBar. Similarly, Royal Palms on a Wednesday night has great music and dancing. The Wharf has salsa dancing on Tuesday nights which draws a good crowd between some regulars and a lot of visitors to the Island. Enjoy!

I messaged you just now, covering Saturday-Tuesday

Wednesday: Royal Palms has the biggest crowd, best night of the week to go there, along with Fridays. After Palms everyone goes to O Bar (roughly 1am) and it fills up fast after midnight

Thursday: Rock & Roll Bingo at Lonestar is a fun night. It's Throwback Thursdays (old school music) at Attic and O Bar for later at night

Friday: The widest array of choices; Karma, Palms, Calicos, Karoo all good to start off with and then the traditional O Bar shift from 1-3am

Places like Karoo, Karma, Calicos have a decent crowd in for most of the time they are open, so they are the most reliable bets if you want a fairly lively atmosphere to surround yourself in. Calicos on a Saturday can get incredibly busy

Hi Saj:

Are these clubs closer to Grand Caymanian Resort or The Reef Resort?

Thanks pokeno

Pokeno, there is little near The Reef Resort. It is on the East End of the island. Checking out maps.google.com is an excellent way to get the lay of the land.

The Reef Resort is on the other side of the island, like a 45 min - 1 hour drive so it's not convenient to any of these. Almost all of the nightlife is on Seven Mile Beach. The Grand Caymanian is about a 5 minute drive from most of these places and infinitely more convenient

Pokeno - Agree with Saj. Just note that the Grand Caymanian is located on the North Sound in the SMB area, and does not have a swimmable beach. The resort itself is nice, relatively small and is usually very quiet, with a few planned activities throughout the week. A rental car will be a necessity if you plan on doing anything, including nightlife.

Are you limited to these two locations because of a timeshare exchange? I think I responded to your earlier post about the two.

Hi Barbp

Yes, to your question those two resorts had the highest star rating between the two. I want to be near the night life and just read that the grand Caymanian was the old holiday inn. This will be our first time to the cayman island so I want to make the best choice for a really good time.

Thanks pokeno
