Can you review our itinerary?

My husband and I are going to St. Kitts and Nevis for our honeymoon in November. Dates are: Nov. 23 - 30.

We are staying at Timothy Beach Resort in St. Kitts from Nov. 23 - 26, then Montpelier Plantation on Nevis from Nov. 26 - 30. We are looking for a mix of relaxation and fun, and local activities to do and we love exploring new restaurants / bars that have a local feel. Here's what I've planned so far. Please let me know if we should switch around the order of things or if it makes sense to do certain things together since they're close by. I'm not familiar with the lay of the land. We aren't planning on getting a rental car on St. Kitts, but we are thinking we will on Nevis.

Fort Hamilton is located just south of Charlestown at Gallows Bay. You get there by going through the area known as Bath Village.

Drive south through Charlestown, make a right at the SOL gas station, a few hundred yard you'll come to a tiny traffic circle, take the road to the right all the way to the end. You'll find the ruins of the fort there.

I've always known that as Ft Charles. It's a very cool site - there's a cistern there that apparantly emptied itself like a geyser during an earthquake in the 1700's. My old buddy Vince Hubbard showed me how to read and interpret the inscriptions on the cannon there. I thnk you're mistaken on it's name, my friend. But well worth visiting, regardless. We believe Alexander Hamilton could watch Ft Charles from his house in Nevis, and it framed his military mind as Washington's right-hand man during the war of traitors against the crown ;-)

Boy, it's funny how the mind plays tricks on you. Earlier today I would have bet our Fort's name was "Hamilton" but you are so right it's "Charles". As you said, it's worth a visit regardless of the name.

Of course I've been to Fort Hamilton on Bequia and many, many years ago I was processed out of the Army at Fort Hamilton (named for Alexander Hamilton) in Brooklyn, NY so I must have "Hamilton" on the brain. I can always count on you to keep me straight.
