no more flights from Isla de Margarita to St. Vincent

A notice to anyone traveling the southern Caribbean:

It is sad to report that the direct flights (Conviasa airlines) from Isla de Margarita, Venezuela to Port of Spain, Grenada, St. Vincent, and Dominica have been suspended.

We live on Margarita Island and have spent easter week in the Grenadines for several years running (most tips to Bequia) and are totally bummed out that, for the time being, we will not be able to do our yearly visit. The route through Caracas and onward is just too complicated and a bit expensive.

We will miss these flights as it was just a 45 minute hop over to St. Vincent-another blow to tourism in the southern Caribbean.

I guess we will just have to make the most of staying home on this island.

How lucky you were! A 45 min flight away from SVG is enviable. It is a shame this route was eliminated.
