Scuba diving

Hi again

We've now got some possibiliites of places to stay on Carriacou.

Does anybody have any personal experience of Lumbadive Scuba Divers? (we are qualified but not very experienced divers).

I know there are another two dive outfits on the island but for various reasons we'd go with Lumbadive unless there was a good reason not to!

Thanks

My husband and I have gone on dives two separate times with Lumbadive. My husband is an experienced diver but I am not. JP was excellent - very experienced - great dives -good equipment and personal service - did not feel as though we were hurried through to meet the next client. We hope to return this spring. Hope you enjoy your trip and your diving expeditions!

Hi - don't know anything about Lumbadive Scuba - but, if you decide not to go with them I strongly recommend Arawak Divers in Tyrell Bay. George and Connie are superb and very knowledgable dive guides.

Okay, thanks

We are tending to wards Lumbadive as they have an accommodation offer we can't find elsewhere - though we have also had good reports of the other 2 dive companies: Arawak divers and Silver Diving.

Thanks again

Hi rogzog

I don't know if it too late now but I have been to Carriacou twice a year for the last three years. I had some family who met JP, my uncle who has dived before and my aunt who never had, and within a week my aunt was a certified open water diver, pretty good considering she isn't too confident in the water. They reccomended him to me and he didn't rush me at all, in fact I would say the guy has the patience of a saint. Sound corny but it's true. You will get value for your money, you can be in doubt about that. I am now a Master Scuba Diver, having done all my training with JP. His girlfreind Clair who is English is a Divemaster and Bongo, his Captain are incredibly freindly.

If you have never gone to Carriacou before then expect to be welcomed by very freindly, hospitable people.

Go with Lumbadive and ignore what you've been told about the other dive shops there because they might know a lot about the area but they aren't as freindly and they only want your cash whereas JP wants you to enjoy your experience and wants you to go back again and again. I now I will do as long as he is there, if he goes somewhere else to start a dive shop, I will visit him because I know I am in safe hands and at 30 or 40 metres down that's what you want isn't it?!

I am going again in April/May and I can't wait!

Have a good time

Thank you!

Yes we were pretty decided to go with Lumbadive and your message confirms that decision. I liked it that on their website whereas most dive instructors say their speciality is in Nitrox or Wreck Diving or something posey like that (which of course may be true) JP says he specialises in helping beginners or anxious divers. As you say if it comes to a choice I'd far rather be with someone who really takes care of you when you dive and whose top priority is to make sure you enjoy it!

Thanks again

HI

Now that we are back I'm happy to report that LumbaDive and JP lived up to expectations.
