Gay Travelers

Hi Everyone - we stumbled upon Trinidad & Tobago and became interested in traveling in 2014. However, we are two females who are married in the U.S., so we have become concerned with the immigration policy and general hospitality. We are comfortable traveling as "cousins" when we visit countries that are less than hospitable to gays (i.e., ones that would jail us), but, since we are married we don't want to be barred entry to the country, since this information would be may be available to officers.

Any advise or personal experiences would be helpful, as we don't want to be turned away or end up needing lawyers after an extensive travel!

Thanks!

We have such old laws like that one created in 1969 but it is not enforced.

I don't know of anyone who has been turned away at Immigration because of being gay.

We have gay local celebrities and they haven't ever been arrested because of that.

hi from london , if you are going to trini and your gay you wont have any problems espically during carnival in 2014. when i first went to trini for carnival there was a band called poison ( but they have disbanded ) and they had a whole section of gay masquarader's . and i mean hundred's . so dont worry just enjoy trini. they always say you go trini once and you always come back.

I checked the latest news on that website and didn't see anything with reference to a gay traveller.

Can you provide a link?
